The Astra is the first multi-temp vaporizer produced by Atmos. This is also an all-in-one vape, making it accessible to users of concentrates, oils, and dry herbs. With fairly small and sleek design, the Atmos Astra is great for portability and on-the-go vaping. Its vapor production, availability of various temperature settings, and inconspicuous appearance make the Astra a great new product from Atmos.
The Atmos Astra uses a lithium ion 2000 mAh 18650 battery. When you first buy your Astra, it is recommended that you charge it for 6 hours to initially condition the battery. This will help the battery warm up and be ready for repeated use for the rest of its lifetime. From this point forward, the battery only takes about two hours to charge completely. The Atmos Astra comes with a plug-in wall charger and micro-USB chord to use for charging anywhere there’s an outlet. While charging, the light on the outside of the vape indicates the current battery life:
Red: under 20%
Green: under 60%
White: under 100%
The light will then turn off once the battery is fully charged. An entirely charged battery should last about 3-4 sessions, depending on the size of your group or if you are vaping alone.
Using the Atmos Astra
This vape is very easy to use, and loading it is no exception. Simply remove the rubber mouthpiece from the top, load in your herbs, pack them down gently, and replace the mouthpiece. While in use, it may help to stir your herbs a bit so that they vape thoroughly and efficiently.
Another nice aspect of the Atmos Astra is the simplicity of the outer design, with only one power button to control the entire vape. To turn the Astra on and/or off, press the power button 5 times rapidly. A light will turn on and stay solid; its placement and color should indicate the vape’s current battery life, as described in the previous section. Unlike most other vapes on the market, the Astra’s light will stay solid while it is heating up and then blink when it is ready. The light doesn’t stay on while the vape is being used, making it a little confusing for those of us who associate a light with the power being on. However, this slight change does set the Astra apart from other vapes.
One of the best things about the Atmos Astra is its five temperature settings, allowing you to vape at your preferred heat. The temperatures are listed on the outside of the vape, with a light next to each to indicate the current temperature setting:
Red: 356 degrees Fahrenheit
Blue: 374 degrees Fahrenheit
Green: 392 degrees Fahrenheit
Purple: 410 degrees Fahrenheit
White: 428 degrees Fahrenheit
To cycle through temperatures to select your preference, press the power button three times rapidly. The according light will blink, and the Astra will be ready to go.
As with most vapes, the Astra provides more and more vapor as the temperature goes up. The lowest two setting produce little to no vapor, and have a very slight taste. With the third setting at 392 degrees, there is a marked difference in the amount of vapor, which is also noticeably hotter. The fourth setting is similar to the third. While the fifth and final setting definitely has a harsher and hotter taste, it displays a great amount of vapor. For those of you who love smoke and vapor production, the higher temperatures are undeniably best.
Price & Warranty
The Atmos Astra is selling on Vaporizer Chief for the outstanding price of $99.95. The vape includes a 30-day warranty from the date of purchase, as long as you buy through an authorized dealers.
The Atmos Astra is a great little vaporizer for using on-the-go or for someone who has little vape experience. It is easy to handle, simple to maintain, and fun to use. Be careful not to overcharge the battery, as this could shorten the lifetime of the vape, and keep it away from extreme hot or cold temperatures. Also be prepared for a little bit of heat while using the Astra, since this is a conduction vape and temperatures go pretty high. Enjoy!
